The Line: The Mario Mendoza Story

Joke Grenade has ventured into the sports documentary arena, to bring the world one of the most poignant and meaningful 'straight-to-DVD' pictures ever made.  The title of this important sports story is "The Line: The Mario Mendoza Story."
The Greatest Documentary ever made.

Mario Mendoza, a career lifetime .215 hitter, is famous for setting the threshold of hitting aptitude in major league baseball. "The Mendoza Line" is the standard by which all hitters in professional baseball are now measured.  The actual "line" is set at .200 (a bit lower than Mendoza's lifetime average) and if that average can't be maintained in the Bigs--a player gets "sent down" to the minor leagues.
Mario... the game changer.

The documentary follows Mendoza's career as a Pittsburgh Pirate, Seattle Mariner, minor league manager and Mexican All-Star.  Most importantly, it chronicles Mendoza's greatest contribution to the game: the Mendoza Line.  This is the story of a player, a manager, a father, a man.  This is Mario's story.
